On March 31, Taiwan’s China Times reported that Kim Soo-hyun was expected to appear at the final day of the Kaohsiung Sakura Festival. However, the actor did not attend, and local rock band Power Station extended their performance by over an hour to compensate. The band admitted feeling pressured but promised to do their best, ensuring attendees still had an enjoyable experience.
Although Kim Soo-hyun skipped the festival, a pop-up store for his latest drama “Queen of Tears,” co-starring actress Kim Ji-won, was still operational at Kaohsiung Dream Mall. Dedicated fans visited the store, purchased merchandise, and brought support items to cheer for the actor.
Reports revealed that some Hong Kong fans had already booked flights and accommodations for the event but expressed disappointment upon learning of Kim Soo-hyun’s absence. Despite this, they defended their idol, tearfully claiming he was innocent and criticizing the media coverage as unfair.
Later that day, Kim Soo-hyun attended a press conference at the Stanford Hotel Korea in Seoul, where he emotionally denied allegations of dating Kim Sae-ron while she was a minor. He clarified that their relationship only began after she became an adult, lasting for about a year.
Kim Soo-hyun had previously denied dating rumors with Kim Sae-ron during Queen of Tears’ airing. At the press conference, he explained, “There was too much at stake,” referring to his concern for his co-stars, production staff, and agency members. He admitted that fear drove his decisions, stating, “Even if I could go back, I would make the same choice. If you call me cowardly or selfish, I will accept that.”
